Thinking of Selling?
Living in Ahwatukee Sunrise
You're sure to enjoy the views at sunrise from the lavishly landscaped yards and patios of the Sunrise community, on the northeast corner of the Ahwatukee Foothills Reserve.
A private, gated community, Sunrise features 112 single-level houses built by Woodside Builders, surrounded on all sides by rocky foothills and pristine desert. With the South Mountain Preserve to the north and east, residents of Sunrise are treated to stunning vistas and close proximity to natural wildlife.
The Foothills Reserve area is the western most section of Ahwatukee, situated at the west end of Pecos Road. The nearest community to the east is Club West.
Southwestern Style Living Spaces
Featuring single-level, hacienda-style Southwest contemporary architecture, houses in the Sunrise subdivision have open floor plans, lots of archways, and feature exteriors of stucco and natural stone, with roofs of terra cotta tile.. Kitchens are large and modern, and boast built-in islands graced with luxurious granite slab countertops. Flooring is usually a combination of lustrous hard wood and warm tile, with occasional areas of plush carpet. You'll find plenty of exotic ceiling fans, plantation shutters and other luxury touches, along with glass brick treatments in the master bath, garden tubs and natural lighting throughout.
Exotic Desert Landscaping
Although you will find a few lawns, mostly you'll find exotic desert landscaping gracing the yards of the Sunrise subdivision yards, with plenty of cactus and natural desert-dwelling plants. Many of the houses feature spectacular swimming pools, hot tubs, water fountains and built-in barbecues and fire places, to take advantage of the glorious weather.
Nearby Schools and Amenities
Schools in the area are some of the best in the nation, including the award-winning Kyrene Elementary School District and Tempe Union High School District, and Arizona law allows students to attend schools of their choosing, within and outside of their districts. Three breathtakingly beautiful regulation golf courses are close by; Club West, Foothills Golf Club and Ahwatukee Country Club, along with two casinos operated by the Gila River Indian community. Theater and arts lovers will love attending performances at the nearby Chandler Center for the Arts and the Mesa Arts Center.
Plenty of dining options are available right in Ahwatukee, along with shopping centers, high end fashion boutiques and natural grocers. Downtown Phoenix is but a half hour drive, for anything that can't be found nearby.
Outdoor Recreation
Right outside the back door of houses in the Sunrise subdivision is the South Mountain Nature Preserve, where residents can hike, mountain bike and trail ride on 50 miles of marked trails. The largest municipal park in the world, South Mountain encompasses almost 17,000 acres. While hiking you may occasionally catch a glimpse of a coyotes or other desert dwelling creature, but if you don’t bother them, they won't bother you. Just five miles down Chandler Boulevard from the subdivision is Desert Foothills Park, featuring a popular children's playground, two regulation baseball diamonds, tennis courts and real sand volleyball courts.
